The Hot Stove is heating up for the New York Yankees.

For the second day in a row, Brian Cashman is linked to a juicy trade rumor as the general manager looks to fill the void in left field created by Andrew Benintendi, who signed a five-year, $75 million contract with the Chicago White Sox.

The Athletic’s Jim Bowden reports “the Yankees are exploring trade options, including Bryan Reynolds of the Pirates, and free-agent options such as Jurickson Profar, who would be a good match if the price is right.”

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Jason Mackey previously reported he expects the Pirates to trade their All-Star outfielder and that he “would be surprised if (Reynolds) winds up playing at all for the Pirates in 2023.”

“Among the suitors, I’m most intrigued by the Dodgers, Rangers and Guardians for what Reynolds could potentially bring back. Blue Jays and Yankees make plenty of sense, too.”

The 27-year-old Reynolds hit a career-high 27 home runs in 2022. According to Spotrac, he’s on the books for $6.75 million in 2023 and won’t be a free agent until after the 2025 season.

As for Profar, the 29-year-old spent the last three seasons with the San Diego Padres. He played in a career-high 152 game in 2022, hitting .243 with 15 home runs and 58 RBI.

Profar previously played for the Texas Rangers and Oakland A’s. The nine-year MLB veteran is a jack-of-all-trades, with experience at all three outfield positions, as well as all four infield positions.
