Running Backs
-Start Damien Harris. The Lions have allowed the most rushing TDs (eight) and the second-most FFPG to running backs. Harris has found the end zone in three consecutive games, and New England will continue to lean heavily on their running backs in Week 5. Rhamondre Stevenson, who shares touches with Harris, is also a quality flex option. Both of the Patriots' top RBs are strong bets to cash in with TDs this week.
-Start A.J. Dillon. The Giants have allowed the fourth-most rushing yards (476) to running backs after the first four weeks. Green Bay should exhibit a balanced offensive attack in Week 5 against New York, and Dillon is a quality flex option. He rushed for 73 yards in Week 4 and should surpass that output in Week 5.
-Start Kareem Hunt. The Chargers have allowed an NFL-high three receiving TDs to RBs, and the fifth-most receiving yards (181) to the position. Nick Chubb has been rolling, but the Browns want to keep their other top running back involved in the offensive flow, and this will be the matchup where Hunt can shine again. Cleveland will lean heavily on its RBs to control the clock against the Chargers.
-Add Tyler Allgeier. The rookie will now take over a prominent role in the Falcons' backfield with Cordarrelle Patterson on injured reserve. Allgeier is averaging 5.3 yards per carry and he rushed for 84 yards on 10 attempts vs. Cleveland in Week 4. He should be a priority add for fantasy players who need help at RB. Also consider Caleb Huntley, who may share some touches with Allgeier after rushing for 56 yards and a TD against the Browns. He is a recommended contingent waiver option if you don't land Allgeier.
-Add Mike Boone. With Javonte Williams out, Melvin Gordon and Boone might work in a time share, and Latavius Murray, who was signed off the Saints' practice squad, is also in the RB mix now in Denver. We will have to wait and see how this situation plays out. Gordon is rostered in most leagues, but Boone is already comfortably in the Denver system and Murray was added for depth. Of the three, Boone is the most readily available with the promise to come off the fantasy waiver wire and contribute with some quality touches.
-Add Rachaad White. The rookie had five receptions for 50 yards and rushed for his first NFL TD in Week 4. You sometimes have to be patient with first-year players, and White can emerge as a good RB depth option in the weeks ahead. Brady has always worked well with RBs who are quality receivers out of the backfield, and White fits that bill ideally. It's a good time to pick up White with bye weeks appearing on the NFL schedule in Week 6.
-Trade for J.K. Dobbins. In his second game of the 2022 season in Week 4, Dobbins rushed for a score and caught a TD pass. He had 63 yards from scrimmage, and there is better yardage production ahead. Dobbins is going to be a consistent TD option for a potent offense, and this may be the final week when you can deal for him before he commands a very significant return in trade talks. Dobbins' fantasy appeal rose with his Week 4 outing, and it's going to increase more soon.
-Trade for Alexander Mattison. He is already proven himself as one of the best No. 2 RBs on an NFL depth chart, and if Mattison is pressed into more service at any time, he will have fantasy RB1 potential. He found the end zone in Week 4, and Mattison remains ready to operate as a top-notch fantasy contributor when given the opportunities.
Wide Receivers
-Start DeVonta Smith. He was limited to 17 yards on three receptions last week, but expect Smith to bounce back in a big way vs. the Cardinals. Smith had totaled 45.40 Fantasy Points in the previous two games, and he will come through with some big gainers against Arizona's 23rd-ranked pass defense in Week 5.
-Start Curtis Samuel. He was held to 36 yards on four receptions in Week 4, but Samuel has already exceeded expectations this season. After four weeks, he is 16th in total fantasy points at WR with 63.00, and he will have to continue to contribute often in Washington with Jahan Dotson now out with a hamstring injury. The Titans have allowed six receiving TDs to WRs, tied for the second-most in the league.
-Start Garrett Wilson. Corey Davis was the featured WR for the Jets in Week 4 as Zach Wilson returned to action, but look for him to get New York's prized rookie more involved this week. Miami ranks 28th in yards allowed to WRs (781) and the Jets may have to pull out their own bag of big-play tricks to match the Dolphins' duo of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Wilson is a prime threat to answer the Miami WRs with some splash plays of his own.
-Add George Pickens. The Steelers' rookie had a strong preseason, and he further alerted us to his breakout potential over the past two weeks. Pickens' one-handed 36-yard reception in Week 3 was the highlight reel catch of the season so far. He then busted out for 102 receiving yards on eight receptions in Week 4. If Pickens is on your free agent list, he should be your top WR pickup of the week. If not, consider trading for him. Pickens is Pittsburgh's top downfield threat and Kenny Pickett will get him the ball often this season.
-Add Kadarius Toney and Wan'Dale Robinson. Both are currently out with injuries, as Toney is dealing with a hamstring issue, and Robinson is recovering from a knee injury. Once Toney and Robinson return, they should both be featured wide receivers for the Giants. Stash them now, as each can be upside performers when healthy.
-Add Alec Pierce. The Colts rookie has totaled 141 receiving yards in the past two games. He had 80 yards on just four catches in Week 4, with a long reception of 44 yards. Pierce is quickly emerging as the No. 2 WR option in Indianapolis, and he will soon be regarded as a respectable starting fantasy option.
-Add Josh Reynolds. He has scored over 36 Fantasy Points in the past two weeks, and Reynolds has an established rapport with Jared Goff, as the two played for four years together with the Rams. Reynolds will be a streaming candidate in the near future as he may have to contribute frequently for the Lions. He might be worth rostering until rookie Jameson Williams is ready to become a significant part of the Lions' passing game.
-Trade for Jerry Jeudy. He caught a 20-yard TD pass in Week 4, and there is still time to acquire Jeudy before he truly breaks out in 2022. The Denver passing game can be more consistent in the weeks ahead, and Jeudy will be a frequent playmaker as both a regular pass-catcher and TD threat.
-Trade for Michael Gallup. He caught a TD pass in his first game played of the year, and this week Gallup faces the Rams, who have allowed the second-most FFPG to WRs. Gallup should start to show more signs of progress in his return from a knee injury this week, and his appeal can only rise with Dak Prescott returning soon.
