Edwards listed 15 more prospects to get to 25 before analyzing the top quarter of his list.
The phrase I have been coining of late as it relates to the top of the draft is that I wish I could start my rankings at No. 3 overall. There is not a bona fide, generational-type talent in this class. The margin of separation between five players is razor thin.
The placement of Hutchinson is going to surprise some fans. He has a higher floor than most in this class but is not a Myles Garrett-like prospect at the edge rusher position. Georgia is well-represented in the top 25 with six prospects. There are zero quarterbacks present but the reality is that at least two are probably going in the first round. Edge rusher is the most common position with six prospects [in the top 25].
Speaking of quarterbacks, Edwards listed three of them — Pittsburgh's Kenny Pickett (28th), Liberty's Malik Willis (31st) and Mississippi's Matt Corral (38th) — in his next tier.
The first quarterbacks appear on the list with Pickett, Willis and Corral all bunched together. The running backs are also present for the first time with [Kenneth] Walker and [Breece] Hall inside the top 50 overall. The cornerbacks are the most well-represented in this range with five, including two from Washington.
