With the news that the Atlanta Falcons are in on the Deshaun Watson chase Matt Ryan’s future is suddenly up in the air. If the Falcons miss on Watson could they draft a quarterback are they truly committed to Matt Ryan?

What the Falcons should do is very clear, Ryan is still a good quarterback and more than capable of winning a playoff game. Moving off of Matt is the wrong move at the wrong time, however, this franchise has a long history of making the wrong move.

The Falcons have emerged as a sleeper team to acquire Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, league sources tell @mortreport and me. The Falcons join the Panthers, Saints and Browns as teams that have met with, or are interested in, trading for Watson. More to come on ESPN.

If you’re Matt Ryan how can you stay committed to a team that clearly isn’t committed to you? Whether it is the Falcons landing Watson, or Ryan demanding a trade, or the Falcons drafting a quarterback a Ryan trade seems to be back on the table.

It would be a terrible decision for the Atlanta Falcons but where could Matt Ryan land if traded?

There are clear landing spots for the veteran quarterback that he could specify considering he has a no-trade clause in his contract. Ryan has full control as to how and if he leaves Atlanta.  With this in mind, there are five clear landing spots that Ryan could ultimately land and continue to find success.
