The upcoming NFL draft is seen as a unique one, especially at the top. Without a top quarterback, or multiple as we’ve seen in the past, teams are left to pick from among the rest of the prospects. While Malik Willis, Kenny Pickett or Desmond Ridder could end up being drafted in the top 10, they do not profile like some of the former top 10 QBs.

That could lead to more movement near the top of the draft. Without having to compete with teams trading up for quarterbacks, and therefore paying a premium, trades could come easier for teams looking for specific prospects at other positions.

The Cleveland Browns under GM Andrew Berry have been aggressive in free agency and the draft to upgrade the roster his first two seasons. A trade-up from the 13th pick to ensure they get the prospect they want would fit that aggressive nature.

Here are a few of the potential targets for the Browns in a move up into the top 10:

DE Aidan Hutchinson

Hutchinson is expected to be one of the top two picks in the upcoming draft but nothing is certain. The Michigan defensive end would be a game-changer for any franchise including Cleveland.

With Myles Garrett on one side and Hutchinson on the other, the Browns edge would be one of the best in the league for years to come. Jadeveon Clowney could still return creating a unique trio along the defensive front.

A trade up into the top three might be unrealistic but possible depending on what Berry does in free agency and trades prior to the draft.

DE Kayvon Thibodeaux

Repeat much of what is said above about Hutchinson for Thibodeaux. The biggest difference is that Hutchinson has proven a lot more in college than the Oregon product but the Duck may have a higher upside.

There has been some rumors about Thibodeaux’s commitment to football and motor but Garrett had those as well. The team would have to be comfortable with their background check in case he slips to the fifth pick or lower.

DEs David Ojabo and George Karlaftis

Combining these two players here as Big Ten defensive ends whose stock could be all over the place. Both could go top ten or drop closer to the 20th pick.

If the team acquires a wide receiver in another way before the draft, Ojabo and Karlaftis could be good fits with a cheaper trade-up for the Browns. Ojabo has a ton of upside while Karlaftis fits a lot of what the team likes from defensive ends.

WR Garrett Wilson

With so many Browns fans also being fans of The Ohio State University, Wilson seems to be the fan-favorite for Cleveland in the first round. If Berry holds the same opinion of Garrett, a move up to make sure he stays in the state would make sense.

With passing offenses so important to success in the NFL, Wilson could go higher than currently expected. Perhaps the receiver that goes first is Wilson and Cleveland needs to make a move up.

WR Treylon Burks

Similar conversation as with Wilson but Burks is a lesser-known prospect to fans. Burks is a bigger, stronger receiver than Wilson but has less production in college.

As the draft process roles on, especially the NFL Combine if Burks participates, it would not be surprising to see the Arkansas receiver at the top of the receiver prospect board.

Like Wilson, a small trade-up may be necessary to grab Burks if Berry has him graded that highly.
