Sarasota, Florida — The National Hurricane Center has issued recommendations on the Caribbean turmoil that is expected to become a tropical cyclone Fred on Tuesday before heading to Florida.

According to the National Hurricane Center, a storm, now called a potential tropical cyclone 6, traveled all night in the southern Leeward Islands, located about 270 miles east-southeast of Ponce in Puerto Rico. NHC confirmed with a recommendation at 8 am.

Tropical cyclones can occur from the end of Wednesday on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, northern Haiti, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and southeastern Bahamas.
