Could the Pittsburgh Steelers be interested in a trade for a Buffalo Bills offensive lineman?
This week, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced they were releasing offensive guard David DeCastro which was certainly a surprise. The reason is that DeCastro has been one of the best guards in the NFL and currently has a streak of six straight seasons with a Pro Bowl appearance.
The move may have been due to the fact that DeCastro revealed that he needs to have ankle surgery and is considering retirement. This news makes the Steelers move a little more logical but it is certainly a big loss for this team, and specifically this offensive line.
The reason is that the offensive line already had plenty of questions entering this season after losing Maurkice Pouncey (retirement) and Alejandro Villanueva (free agency). While they have some interesting young prospects, they are unproven and they could be looking to add some veterans.
If the Steelers want to go this route, then they may be interested in calling the Buffalo Bills. The Bills have some good depth across the offensive line and are likely not going to be able to keep everyone after drafting three offensive linemen during the 2021 NFL Draft.
This could be enough to make a trade for both sides make sense and these are three players that could be discussed.
