The Colorado Department of Transportation has updated its plan for traffic stops on U.S. Highway 160 at Highway 172 to two of four mornings, Tuesday through Friday.
Weather and travel conditions have delayed the first girder delivery that was expected Monday morning. The girders will likely now be transported Tuesday morning at 6 a.m. If weather or conditions are a factor, delivery may take place Wednesday instead. The second delivery could be Thursday or Friday.
A total of 12 concrete bridge girders, each 140 feet long and weighing 185,000 pounds, will be transported to the project site this week on two separate mornings, weather permitting. Traffic will be fully stopped at least three times between 6 and 7 a.m., as a total of six trucks move through the intersection.
