At 7:31 p.m. Friday, a suspect stole personal property from an occupied residence at University Village in Albany.
According to a UCPD alert sent Saturday, the suspect entered through the front door, which was propped open.
In light of the incident, UCPD reminded the community to keep doors and windows locked, become familiar with surrounding security systems, keep a record of all keys issued and office equipment possessed and call 911 to report suspicious activity in a timely manner.
UCPD also encouraged anyone with information about this crime or related crimes to call (510) 642-6760.
