VIRTUAL MISSION INN RUN AT GOLDEN ERA PRODUCTIONS

This year the Mission Inn Run went the “social distance” by going virtual.
The Truth About Drugs Running Team ran the Mission Inn Run throughout the Golden Era Productions on Sunday morning November 1st. The Mission Inn Run, now in its 43rd year, has been successfully holding this iconic annual event through the streets of Riverside. The run is one of the main fundraising events for the Mission Inn Foundation. For the past 5 years the Golden Era Productions Truth About Drugs Running Team has participated in the Mission Inn Run with thousands of other runners. So, this year the team decided if the Mission Inn Run is not happening in Riverside then they would take part in it here at the Golden Era Productions campus. The 5K, 10K and half-marathon running course spreads throughout the 525-acre campus and, of course, protocols were kept in place. The running course passes “The Castle” film studio and winds around all the sports facilities, which include basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, a 3.3-acre lake and par course - a running course with exercise stations. With 23 runners registered to support the Mission Inn Foundation, the race got off to a patriotic start with the National Anthem sung by songstress, Linda Greilich that sunny Sunday morning.
Members of the team trained almost every day so they could each make their best times. One of the runners, said, “I usually participate in all the local runs so it was great to get our team together again to do this run. But I must say I miss the camaraderie with other fellow 5K runners that I have met throughout the years.”
The Truth About Drugs Program is the largest international and most comprehensive nongovernmental drug educational and prevention program of its kind. Overseen by the Foundation for a Drug-Free World, the program provides effective drug education resources–videos, booklets and other teaching aids (in 18 different languages) – that grab the attention of young people and leave them informed.
