CHICO — Two free webinars, one on exporting and the other on e-commerce, will be hosted by the Small Business Development Center at Butte College.
On Wednesday, from 10 to 11 a.m. “Move Your Brick-and-Mortar Business Online (Like a PRO)” will guide small businesses to moving online to sell products and services.
Presenter Shane Barker is a digital marketing consultant specializing in e-commerce, has consulted for Fortune 500 companies and is an instructor at UCLA.
His topics include bringing an offline business online, how to build an audience, creating an online marketing plan, strategies for getting started, avoiding pitfalls.

On June 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. “Export Marketing — Food and Ag” will be presented on Zoom.
With a focus on Asia, the webinar will provide insights into what is happening on the ground with consumer behavior and present opportunities to position a company for the rebound.
Topics include the trade outlook with coronavirus, with an update on China-US duties reduction; forecasts, opportunities and challenges, with updates on the Hong Kong and China markets; export marketing and sales; and shipping and payment. There will be an open discussion, with exporters sharing their challenges and best practices;
Speakers include Jeffrey Williamson, director of California State Trade Expansion, and Alice Tang, an assistant principal economist with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and head of the Greater China Research Team. The program is part of the California Export Training Network, which is sponsored by the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development. It is also supported by funding from the US Small Business Administration.
