Rajon Rondo is a hero. The Los Angeles Lakers went into the Boston Garden with their worst record in months. They were playing against a Boston Celtics team that was 9-1 in their last 10 games and hadn't dealt with the specter of Anthony Davis rumors for the past two weeks. They fell behind by 18 points only two nights after losing by 42 against the Indiana Pacers. Their entire season seemed to be in jeopardy.
And then they stormed back. The Lakers took the lead off of a blistering third quarter. The fourth quarter was a back and forth battle between LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. And then, finally, the play of the game, and perhaps the season, happened. Rondo found the ball after Brandon Ingram missed his attempt at a game-winner. He put up a prayer as the buzzer hit zeroes. And it fell in. The Lakers won. The team went wild. And the season, at least for the night, is saved. This was the biggest win of the Lakers season. Here's what the media had to say after the total stunner.
